| | | | About AMC RE and AMC Insurance | |
| AMC Re was created by the American Management Corporation (AMC), an insurance services company with almost 200 employees, offices in Conway, AR and Scottsdale, AZ, almost 2,000 contracted agents and over $120 million in written premium. In creating AMC Re, AMC's goal was to provide a nation-wide on-shore, domestic captive service to the insurance industry with all the advantages and benefits of an off-shore captive facility.
The AMC's owner/president, Stephen Strange Sr., has a 20-year relationship with the state of Arkansas. Steve's vision was to write a captive law in the state of Arkansas in order to meet his clients' growing needs and to bring additional revenue to the state. Through the collaborative effort of many, Steve was able to create a piece of comprehensive legislation to make his vision into a reality. With the support of the Insurance Commissioner and the Governor of Arkansas, the legislation passed, creating AMC Re in January of 2002.
AMC Re is a Protected Cell Captive domiciled in the state of Arkansas. Unlike most captives domiciled in the US, AMC Re through the use of it's protected cell network is able to provide its customers with very little startup costs. In addition, AMC RE, through its parent company AMC, is able to offer many supplementary insurance services such as policy issuance, loss control and actuarial and claims handling services.
AMC Re is the perfect fit for Managing General Agencies and Insurance Broker/Agents with homogeneous books of business, large single insured's, or who have access to large groups or associations. These customers can participate in the risk sharing of their insurance costs through AMC Re while earning investment income and smoothing out their insurance costs over time.
